Sky Keller Question and Answer Session

Sky Keller Question and Answer Session

Time for another short Q&A! American singer-songwriter Sky Keller first caught my attention with the release of her summery single Weekend and has recently followed that up with sultry track Bad. Her vocals really caught my attention so I had an opportunity to ask her some questions so we can all learn more about her! So let’s jump right in with this interview below.

Recently you released your song Bad. Can you share some insight into its creation and working with Danny Garibay?
“BAD” was inspired by my last relationship. After feeling as if someone special to me had left, everything just didn’t seem fair – all these emotions came pouring out while writing it. Working with Danny was amazing as he truly understood my story and helped convey my message so effortlessly; everything just progressed naturally, leaving me extremely pleased with its final result.

Can we expect a music video for “BAD” in the near future? Absolutely. My imagination has already begun working overtime when it comes to visuals for this one – I can’t wait until we hit the shoot date!

Are music and its related disciplines an integral part of your childhood experience? Can you describe what compelled you to pursue a music career path?
Music was always an integral part of my life as a child, from singing around the house to playing various instruments. Connecting with people through art led me to pursue a career in music – there’s nothing quite as powerful than writing lyrics and performing songs that resonated with people!

What musical influences and styles inspire your work as an artist?
Adele is my musical inspiration. Her honest lyrics transport me on an amazing musical journey; her writing style has informed how I compose my songs; she has taught me not to hold back during my creative process.

Which song have you composed so far and why is your favorite one?
My favorite song that I’ve written so far is my most recent release “BAD”. I wrote “BAD” during an especially trying time in my life and found great freedom turning my thoughts into lyrics. Writing it was rewarding in comparison with writing other songs – especially because Danny produced it so uniquely and added fresh elements that felt unique.

Are You Working on a Full-Length Album and When can We Expect It to Publish?
No. At this point in time I am focused on releasing singles and eventually an EP.

Who would you pick as an artist collaborator and why? My pick would be 6lack. His lyrics capture personal experiences about life and love that allow listeners to experience his journey; something I also strive to do through music.

Are You Planning To Tour Soon and What Should Fans Expect From Your Shows?
Unfortunately, no plans to tour just yet as I spend most of my time writing new material and honing my craft before starting live performances – so fans should expect high-energy, emotional, and intimate shows!
